Green Nari Kollyan Foundation (GNKF) is a non-political social welfare organization which is working to improve living condition of people in its dynamic working area basically Khulna and its adjacent areas. Its main target is to ensure Economic stability & equal opportunity to achieve self establishment for both gender specially women.

Green Nari Kalyan Foundation has been working for a long time with the aim of improving the quality of life and fortune of the people of Greater Khulna and adjoining areas. The large population of the southern region, especially for women and entrepreneurs, for the past few years has been honored and awarded many times as a non-governmental organization supporting the development of Bangladesh with reputation by formulating and implementing various projects.
GNKF has been implementing Training activities since its inception in 2006. GNKF believes that Training can reduce poverty, empower the women and ensure jobs for jobless people. So, Training is the key programs of development. GNKF has been providing Human Development Training (HDT) and (2) Skill development Training (SDT) to the program beneficiaries. In the mean time, GNKF has provided HDT & SDT more than 5000 women, promoters and youths in the program areas. A big number of unemployed women including youths ensured their jobs after getting Skill development Training (SDT).
GNKF has awarded on Training activities from Department of Youth Development and Department of Social Services.
GNKS has been implementing Women entrepreneur/Promoter development Program Since 2007. The organization has been implementing this program through Motivation, Training, production, participation in various fair/mela, marketing etc. In the meantime, GNKF has created more than 300 Women entrepreneur/Promoter on jute items production and marketing in Khulna and Bagerhat districts. Most of them are self employed. It is main program of GNKF.
Early Marriage Remove program is the burning issue in Bangladesh. GNKF has been implementing this program through motivational work through Group meetings, advocacy activities etc in Khulna district. Through this program, GNKF has been motivational activities among the grassroots people. Providing information to the local administration on early marriage issues and helping to stop early marriage.
GNKS has been working on prevention of trafficking of children and women with the supports of Department of Women Affairs. The project is Combat in Persons through Community Mobilization and the main activities are awareness, school campaigns, bazzar meetings, group meetings, Uthan boitak etc. It develops Community Trafficking Forum (CTF) from community and mobilizes them for working for prevention of trafficking in the project areas.
GNKF has taken Special Program on COVID-19. In the meantime, GNKF has distributed huge number of Face mask among the local people to protect Corona Pandemic situation. The organization has also distributed Relief goods especially Food items like Rice, Dal, Potato, Soybean oil, Sault etc among the jobless and poor people. GNKF implemented publication activities on Corona Pandemic through Maiking, leaflets distribution etc.
Half of the total population in Bangladesh are female. But women are not socially well permitted to go out of the family, participate in education and economic activities. They are the victims of social diseases like divorce, abandoned, husband separation, polygamy, dowry early marriage and torturing. Moreover being a traditional segregated society, women are often denied to access to many opportunities. They have no Income sources. As a result, women are not empowered in the family. GNKF has been trying to empower the women through leadership development, Skills development Training and IGA activities etc.
Government health services at the rural situation are sub-standard at all level and beyond the reach of the poor communities. To aware the group people on the primary health issues different types of interventions are implemented under this head. The activities are motivation, awareness raising, PHC education, cadres training to pregnant mother, TBA training, EPI, balanced diet preparation, ORS preparation and use, nutritional awareness and family planning. adolescent girls and pregnant mothers and injecting TT for their safety. It advocates for contraceptives use, ligation, Vasectomy, Copper-T etc. and interested couples are sent to Government Hospitals. GNKF has been implementing this program with assistances of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Regular motivation/awareness raising discussions are held among the beneficiaries in weekly group meetings. Special seminar workshops on legal aid are being organized with the government officials, public representatives and by the participation of men/women.
Anti Tobacco is one of the most important issues in this time. It is very essential for health & Environment. GNKF is implementing this program through arrangement of Seminar, Motivation & Poster distribution. Anti Drug are very sensitive issues of Bangladesh.The Young generation are going to be addicted through drug use. GNKF Trying to control drug use through motivational works.
GNKF has been working for the poor adolescent girls of the working areas for their life development since its inception. Already a good number of adolescent girls have become aware and skilled about their lives. The program has become accepted highly and need is increasing. Due to limitation it cannot increase the program. So, we need supports from all concerns.
Now, Climate Change is one of the most important issues in the world. The world is threaded by various pollution like Air, Water, and Land etc which affected already on our human beings. To prevent environmental degradation, GNKF has been implementing motivational work, Training, home based Tree plantation program etc. GNKF have also distributed leaflets on environmental issues in the program areas.
There are 12% people of the country are disabled. GNKF especially emphasis the development of the disabled people and especially considers the children. GNKF believes that without participation of disabled persons, Nation cannot develop. In this context, GNKF organizing and providing training to the Disabled people as per their status. The main activities are: motivation, awareness raising, Uthan boitak, Training, IEC/BCC materials support, advocacy, group meetings, leaflet distributions, workshops, seminars etc. It also provides disability aid materials like crutches, spectacles, wheel chairs etc to the poor disabled children.
Migration Problem is one of the main problems in Bangladesh. It is threaten for humanity. For better life and job opportunities, men and women change their living places. But a big number of migrated people become false prostitution for their ignorance. Social criminals and corrupted peoples are involved in this activities. Many people losing their wealth and lives causes of social criminals and corrupted peoples. For safe migration, GNKF working in Khulna district through motivational and training activities.
